"DUNCANSVILLE, Pa. (WTAJ) — Police are alerting drivers that a busy Duncansville intersection will temporarily close Thursday for National Guard helicopters.![]()
The Allegheny Township Police Department will shut down the Meadows Intersection (Plank Road, N. Juniata Street and Municipal Drive) April 23.![]()
The shutdown will begin at 11:55 a.m. and last until 12:30 p.m as a couple of helicopters will be landing and taking off around the National Guard Readiness Center.![]()
Drivers should use caution in the area and consider an alternate route during the shutdown."![]()

Volunteers handled a total of 7 incidents today. 2 first due Commercial fire alarms and a gas leak, a Commercial fire alarm assist to Lakemont station 15, a motor vehicle crash assisting Station 30 Geeseytown and a reported first due dwelling fire in the 1000 block of Holiday Hills drive. Caller reported a microwave on fire inside the residence. Chief 10 arrived on scene with smoke showing from the first floor. After further investigation it was determined fire was out. Chief 10 held the box to Station 10, Tanker 20 and Quint 15. Crews checked for extension and performed ventilation before returning to service.
