The borough crews are currently dealing with a major water break at 520 Blair Street. The water is currently turned off in that area. ![]()
There are other areas in the borough that have been identified where there are active leaks. These areas are 1402 Walnut St., Allegheny Street at Scotch Valley Road and the 500 block of Holiday Hills Drive. The Borough’s water tank is extremely low due to these multiple leaks. Residents may experience dirty water or low water pressure. The crews are working diligently and as quickly as possible to complete these repairs.
Today 5 members gathered to address the snow covered hydrants in the Borough and in our portion of Blair township. We encountered alot of hydrants that were buried with snow. Members took time to open them up properly. Thank you to the residents and business owners who took the time to open up your hydrants. Reminder All residents and business owners are encouraged to take the time to clear the fire hydrant on your property as it is the responsibility of the property owner. Although we encourage all residents in the area of the hydrants to assist keeping hydrants clear. That hydrant effects all residents in that area. Please help us help you by saving us critical time in the event of an emergency.
